Join the HJF Team!   HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pharmacoepidemiology who will be responsible for conducting mentored research, focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on deriving real-world evidence on the potential safety and effectiveness of repurposed medications to treat addiction, including alcohol use disorder.    The Fellow will join a multi-site, multidisciplinary research team, and be mentored by Dr Joshua Gray, PhD https://medschool.usuhs.edu/profile/joshua-gray-phd, and Dr Christopher Rentsch, PhD https://medicine.yale.edu/profile/christopher-rentsch/.   The Fellow will be encouraged to articulate research questions of clinical, population health, and mechanistic importance, design research projects, develop detailed analytic plans, perform analyses, interpret results, effectively communicate results orally and in writing, lead and submit results for peer-reviewed publication, and disseminate findings at national and international conferences.    The Fellow will have the opportunity to work with multiple sources of electronic health records and other routinely-collected data, including the Veterans Aging Cohort Study (VACS)-National, Million Veterans Program (MVP), All of Us, UK Biobank, and others. Our lab prioritizes mentorship and professional growth. There will be ample training opportunities including in grant writing and attendance of workshops or short courses to refine or extend skills.    This position will be in support of the Clinical Neuroscience of Psychopathology (CNP) lab in the Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology at Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD,   https://medschool.usuhs.edu/mps/research/gray-lab. This research includes collaborations with principal investigators from Yale School of Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania, and the National Institutes on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The ideal candidate will have strong computational and analytic skills with some experience using electronic health record data and a passion for deriving high-quality real-world evidence, ideally in the field of addiction.   Note: This work site requires that Non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years.    The Henry M. Join the HJF Team!   HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to be responsible for initiating and carrying out research projects in collaboration with a research team. The incumbent will be responsible for initiating and carrying out scientific projects on the role of innate immunity in infection and vaccine development in support of the goals and objectives of the Innate Immunology section and under the supervision of senior scientists. The position involves understanding how the innate immune system can influence adaptive immunity elicited during infection and vaccination. The innate immunology section is particularly interested in studying the contribution of monocytes, dendritic cells, innate T cells (gamma delta, MAIT and iNKT cells) as well as NK cells responses to vector and adjuvant used in vaccination or to natural infection. The position also involves understanding how antibodies engage innate effector cells to mediate immunity and assessing other functional characteristics of these antibodies elicited during infection and vaccination. The incumbent will be part of a team of biologists, clinicians and statisticians working on a range of questions related to vaccine research focusing principally on HIV, but also Dengue, Ebola, SARS-CoV-2, or other pathogens of interest to the program. The candidate will work with different stakeholders in a highly multidisciplinary environment.   This position will be in support Innate Immunology section of the US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP).   The Henry M. Using advanced biochemical, hormonal, imaging and genetic techniques, the project seeks to determine the neural stress pathways and potential neuroendocrine and neuroinflammatory biomarkers subsequent to sleep dysregulation to the brain. The broad interests of the laboratory are the study of neuroendocrine stress signaling and the development of therapeutics and biomarkers to improve recovery.

Great opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to exciting research!   The lab focuses on understanding infectious disease dynamics, particularly for HIV-1, and translating this knowledge to develop vaccines. The applicant will conduct laboratory assays.
