HJF is seeking an IT Support Technician II to provide support to employees or internal customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of request and incidents that are facilitated via the Service Desk to support HJF employees. This includes support of Mac/PCs, Printers, Network connectivity, and Telephony and Audio/Video collaboration systems.

 

This position will be in support of the Murtha Cancer Center Research Program (MCCRP) and the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR). MCCRP is the nexus of cancer services and support for the Military Health System (MHS) with clinical and translational research cancer programs fully integrated with the Uniformed Services University (USU), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Veteran Affairs (VA), and other federal and non-federal organizations.

 

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 IT support to HJF employees within the MCCRP.
  • Manage desktop support tickets ensuring proper customer engagement and support SLAs are met.
  • Manage and maintain hardware inventory.
  • Configure workspaces for current and new employees.
  • Create and maintain IT knowledge documentation.
  • Support Macs and PCs in an enterprise environment.
  • Work with technology vendors to facilitate equipment repair or troubleshooting.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree and/or vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required. Must have at least 1 year of helpdesk support experience.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • General helpdesk experience. 
  • Experience supporting MacOS, Windows, Linux in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience using Google Apps (Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.), Microsoft 365, Exchange.
  • SAS / SPSS / R / R Studio experience.
  • Imaging Apple Macs and Windows PC.

 

Physical Capabilities 

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.

 

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
  • This position will be 100% on-site.
