HJF is seeking a Research Physician, Global Infectious Diseases to be based at HJF in Bethesda, Maryland, and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in Silver Spring, Maryland, supporting clinical research activities conducted by the WRAIR Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), the Emerging Infectious Disease Branch (EID), and other affiliated programs. A hybrid work arrangement is available for those residing in the DC/MD/VA area. Individual would be expected to come to Bethesda, MD 2-3 days per week.
Under the supervision of the Director, Clinical Research Directorate, the Research Physician will contribute to a broad project portfolio in all stages of development, from concept to final report, inclusive of presentation at scientific conferences and publication in peer-reviewed literature. Projects that will be supported include Phase 1b clinical trials of broadly-neutralizing antibodies for the prevention and treatment of HIV; cohort studies evaluating the interplay of HIV, COVID-19, and nuerobehavioral health; and other projects ranging from observational studies to clinical trials and vaccine product development. Activities will be executed both in the US and internationally.
We are seeking a qualified Research Physician (M.D. or equivalent) with experience in clinical medicine, excellet written/oral communication skills, experience or interest in regulated clinical research, and the ability to effectively lead and and contribute to complex, multidisciplinary, international research.

HJF is seeking aProgram Coordinator to provide programmatic administrative and laboratory project oversight under the direction of the INLAP Program management team or supervisor. Routine tasks will be performed independently with guidance from higher INLAP PM levels for more complex tasks.
This is a hybrid role, including remote work and as needed in-person laboratory support and shipping as required by respective project needs. Individual woul need to be available to come onsite to either Rockville or Bethesda, MD.
This position will be in support of the International Laboratory Program (INLAP) to support clinical research in conjunction with multiple specified research protocolswithin the Global-Infectious Diseases (Global-ID) portfolio, including both Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) and Emerging Infectious Disease Branch (EIDB) located in Bethesda MD.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation Medical Research International (HJFMRI) provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to global medical research programs. HJFMRI in collaboration with The Walter Reed Project, HIV Program-Kericho carries out HIV / AIDS vaccine and therapeutic research, and with PEPFAR, supports HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in South Rift Valley.
The US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) is staffed and aided by the Henry Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) and its subsidiary HJF Medical Research International (HJFMRI) to employ specialized HIV/AIDS technical support in Kenya. Efforts executed under this program focus on HIV prevention, care and treatment with funding from the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
With headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, MHRP and HJF work together to support programs in Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda. The PEPFAR program in Kenya works with health facilities and Community-Based Organizations (CBO) with the purpose of creating a lasting health change in Kenya. Our commitment to partnerships at every level and our multidisciplinary approach underpins our goal to have a lasting impact in communities.
The HJFMRI PEPFAR Kenya Country Director provides leadership and technical direction to ensure the strategic and programmatic integrity of the PEPFAR program and is responsible for achieving the planned results set out for the program.
The incumbent will work to support the PEPFAR program in the day-to-day oversight of diverse activities and personnel executing the mission. Activities will include, but are not limited to: coordinating and responding to requests from senior management and designated program and funding authorities (i.e. MHRP, HJF Home Office, USG Embassy team etc.), and engaging with local and international host governments (national and county-level), other implementing partners, and ensuring the PEPFAR program is meeting its many qualiatative and quantative deliverables. The HJFMRI PEPFAR Country Director is the primary point of contact for PEPFAR with the MRD-A/Kenya (WRAIR DoD) Government (USG) team based in Nairobi and serves as the HJF incountry lead for PEPFAR implementation.

HJF is seeking aProgram Coordinator to provide administrative project oversight of a narrower scope under the direction of a supervisor. Coordinates budget and accounting, space management, personnel management, overall management, contracts, and purchasing. Completes more routine tasks independently and relies on guidance from higher Program Manager (PM) levels for more complex tasks
This position will be in support of Global Infectious Diseases (Global ID) portfolio located at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in Silver Spring, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to the Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), Emerging Infectious Diseases Branch (EIDB), and Diagnostic & Countermeasures Branch (DCB). The incumbent will serve as the HJF primary point of contact for the WRAIR site, performing a wide range of administrative tasks under the direction of the Team Lead. Some general tasks include preparing reports and tasker responses, coordinating portfolio meetings, creating, and editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations as well assisting in managing schedules, arranging appointments and itineraries.

HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow is Responsible for initiating and carrying out research projects in collaboration with a research team. Pursuits research along a focused line of inquiry and has a manuscript in development.
The position is in the Adjuvants and Formulation Section of the Laboratory of Adjuvant and Antigen Research, US Military HIV Research Program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct basic laboratory research in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, and immunology of liposomes and adjuvants. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will conduct research on the development of novel liposome formulations to be used as adjuvants for HIV-1 and other infectious disease vaccine candidates, and development of lipid nanoparticles for mRNA-based vaccines.

HJF is seeking a Director, Data Coordinating and Analysis Center (DCAC), Global Infectious Diseases to oversee data management and analysis support for the clinical research activities conducted by the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), the Emerging Infectious Diseases Branch (EIDB), and other affiliated programs. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the complete and accurate collection of research data from all clinical research sites. The incumbent also oversees a staff of clinical data management specialists, programmers, and data analysts that are tasked with the creation and implementation of tools to support data capture, routine monitoring of data for completion and accuracy, communication with clinical research sites to coordinate data entry and response to database queries, preparation of data reports, and design and execution of statistical analyses to test research hypotheses. The incumbent is responsible for directing and coordinating the completion of all responsibilities assigned to DCAC while ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to comply with regulatory requirements and ensure data integrity.

The Research Assistant provides laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff and solves less complex problems in carrying out research projects in a laboratory environment. This position will be in support of the B Cell Biology Core of the US Military HIV Research Program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring MD. The ideal candidate will provide technical laboratory support to senior staff conducting studies on the role of humoral immunity, viral pathogenesis, and vaccine development. Research includes a wide variety of techniques (molecular, biochemical, flow cytometric) for the isolation, purification, and characterization of antibodies to various pathogens including HIV, COVID-19, Zika virus and others from pathogenesis and vaccine studies. The Medical Affairs team, Department of International HIV Prevention and Treatment (IHPT), Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) seeks a Technical Director for HIV Case Finding. IHPT supports the prevention, care, and treatment activities overseas (OCONUS) of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) as part of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Under the Senior Technical Director for HIV Prevention and Testing, the Technical Director for HIV Case Finding supports case-finding and testing for prevention services in four African countries and the Philippines. As a senior member of IHPT's Medical Affairs team in Bethesda, Maryland, the Technical Director for HIV Case Finding will collaborate with the Technical, Program Quality, and Strategic Information departments. The Technical Director may occasionally collaborate on IHPT’s research projects and protocols and work with country teams to develop and execute field-driven research studies.
Provide technical assistance to MHRP’s international PEPFAR programs to understand epidemic dynamics at sub-national levels and develop strategies to find unidentified HIV-positive individuals. Support IHPT’s PEPFAR programs to design and implement targeted, evidence-based case-finding interventions with fidelity (e.g., provider-initiated testing and counseling, index testing, social network strategies or other community-based case finding strategies, and HIV self-testing).
