HJF is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to maintain data files and control procedures for a simple network system or server. Installs, configures, and maintains computer systems and associated peripheral equipment. Maintains operating efficiency and stability, ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other issues. Performs application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users, optimizing remote access, and security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications. Coordinates with department leadership to plan, design, and schedule the release of all software, hardware, and operating system updates. Develops and enhance processes and technical documentation, create back-up procedures, test plans, and reports. The SA will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructures. Matches information functionality with GYN-COE business, clinical, basic science and translational research processes. Plays leading role in effectively utilizing information capacities to support multidisciplinary translational research.
The Senior Systems Administrator is part of the GYN-COE team to design, maintain and monitor Windows based systems and Linux based application and desktop virtualization services supporting research and administrative activities under the direction of the Program Manager who establishes and provides general guidelines and overall priorities. The Systems Engineer works independently; establishes internal priorities, work schedules and goals and uses their own initiative and sound judgment. Work is evaluated based on results achieved towards established goals and requirements, timeliness, application of sound business practice and efficient use of resources.
This position will be on-site in support of the Gynecologic Cancer- Center of Excellence (GYN-COE) in Annandale, VA.
