Using advanced biochemical, hormonal, imaging and genetic techniques, the project seeks to determine the neural stress pathways and potential neuroendocrine and neuroinflammatory biomarkers subsequent to sleep dysregulation to the brain. HJF is seeking a Data Analyst Ito provide analytic support to a team of pediatricians, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and research studies. The Data Analyst I will be responsible for data extraction, management, cleaning, and analysis associated with pediatric research projects drawing upon military healthcare data and will support other Pediatric projects as needed. The successful candidate will collaborate with principal investigators, epidemiologists, and other data analysts and managers to establish data requirements. They will structure, manipulate, and clean and analyze data to meet research needs in SAS. Data quality control, data updates and merges, statistics, data queries, streamlining/ developing efficiencies for data processes, regulatory oversight, and scientific graphics are all key tasks. This position reports to Principal Investigators and receives daily supervision from team Epidemiologists. This is the first of three levels in the Data Analyst hierarchy.

The Ellis laboratory at the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) is seeking a highly motivated Post-Baccalaureate Researcher with interests in translational cancer research to join a dynamic research team. The Ellis laboratory interests include the characterization of comprehensive molecular signatures, survival pathways and associated rational therapeutic targets in lethal prostate cancers, with a specific focus on epigenetics and phenotypic plasticity, and their role in disease progression and therapeutic resistance. To achieve this, we generate and utilize novel genetically engineered mouse models, human and mouse 3D organoid cultures, therapeutics, functional genomics, and molecular and genomic approaches (including next generation sequencing platforms, and CRISPR/Cas9 technology). Important to the Ellis Lab mission is to translate scientific discovery to first in human clinical trials.
The Post-Baccalaureate Researcher will be responsible for performing research in collaboration with a research team consisting of scientific and clinical investigators. Candidates should have interests in molecular biology, 3D organoid and in vivo modeling and basic knowledge of single cell omics and spatial profiling. Incumbent exercises technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. Performs limited analysis and interpretation of results. HJF is seeking a Nurse Practitioner I to support the Murtha Cancer Center Research Program’s (MCCRP) Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR), located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD. The Nurse Practitioner helps with all aspects of patient care for prostate disease and cancer, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. May work in outpatient and research situations and performs independently or as part of a treatment team. Educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Conduct physical exams, orders tests and medications, and serves as a patient's primary healthcare provider.

HJF is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to be responsible for the day to day operations of the laboratory. Performs the most advanced laboratory procedures and supervises the work of laboratory technicians. Provides administrative oversight to space management, personnel management, and laboratory supply management.
This position will be in support of Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), Operational Infectious Diseases (OID). OID conducts on-going, laboratory-based surveillance of US military populations in unique environments to quantify and study the etiology of infectious illnesses. Test specimens are collected from ongoing surveillance programs and from special investigations of febrile illnesses and pneumonia among military personnel or civilians (recruits, forces afloat, deployed forces, outbreaks of concern, and border populations). In addition to the utilization of portable, rapid assay technologies to identify pathogens in the field, test specimens and limited epidemiologic data, when approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), are provided to the NHRC laboratory where diagnostics and, in some instances, in-depth pathogen characterization is conducted. Results are provided to sponsors, the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center, local investigators and collaborators and, when applicable, county health units in order to guide proper responses that ultimately affect both the readiness of US forces and the safety of public health.

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgement is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
This position will be in support of the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). This position will support research programs focused on the development of medical countermeasures (therapeutics and vaccines) for high containment viruses of interest to the Department of Defense and Health and Human Services. This position will be in support ofthe Geographic Information System Laboratory in the Preventative Medicine and Biostatistis department at the Uniformed Services Health University in Bethesda, M.D. The lab manages multidisciplinary military health care data to model health risks of epidemics and environmental hazards that affect military personnel and their beneficiaries. The lab uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to build future projections of Military Health risks to improve health care systems and support force health protection in the US and in deployment areas. HJF is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist II to perform assays/procedures in strict accordance with the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Policies, Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), accrediting bodies, and U.S. regulatory agencies to include the CAP, DoD Clinical Laboratory Information Program (CLIP), and the U.S. FDA. The incumbent is responsible for preparing and analyzing samples, operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art instrumentation, and ensuring adherence to all quality control procedures in support of clinical diagnostic and clinical research initiatives. The incumbent mentors and trains junior staff and assist the Lead Technologist and/or Technical Supervisor in writing/drafting SOPs and providing input for process improvements.
